THE
C&R 10T FISHING SWIVEL
The design of this swivel
reflects the result of consultations between
ourselves and the fishing companies using them. The present design has
an ultimate breaking load of approximately 75t which converts to
a SWL of 20t with a safety factor of 3.75:1. The 10t recommended
maximum working load relates to the bearing capacity. This rating can
be increased to 13t by fitting a roller thrust bearing which is fully
interchangeable (but more expensive) with the present ball type.
The C & R 10t swivel has
the following advantages:
- Inexpensive for a ball
bearing swivel which can be dismantled
- Has a high ultimate load and
excellent bending resistance
- Can be overhauled at low cost
(less than $NZ40 for new bearing, seal, etc)
- Can be upgraded with roller
bearings (at extra cost)
- Is as compact as possible
having regard to bearing dimensions
- More than adequate barrel
thickness allows for abrasive wear
- Is well sealed against
ingress of silt
- Eyes will accept a variety of
fittings
- Swivels are batch tested to
20t proof load
